Crowning is another form of dental treatment that is done for severe cavities or fragmented teeth. Crowns or caps are a form of permanent coverings that are pasted to the teeth that has undergone a root canal procedure. Crowning and Capping strengthens and saves the remaining parts of the teeth.
A root canal treatment is performed where there is presence of severe form of cavities and the roots of the teeth are affected. To soothe the pain the dentist removes the pulp of the affected tooth. The pulp consists of the nerves that give life to the tooth. A small hole is drilled in the middle of the tooth so that the dentist can see all the nerves that need to be pulled out. Once the procedure is completed the hole needs to be sealed with permanent filling or crown.
